1993 Honda XR80 Dirt bike, No spark?
Alright, i have a 1993 Honda XR80 Dirtbike. It sits outside most of the time, and so i went to ride it the other day, and it wouldnt kick over. So i pushed it in my garage, took out the spark plug, got a good ground on the engine block, and there is no spark., i tryed moving the ground, by the coil, and by what i think to be the CDI. Still, no spark. I have changed the spark plug also. Any help is appreciated, Thanks!
The Kill switch works by Grounding the ignition
Disconnect it,,,just unplug it's wire from the bike.
Beyond that it gets difficult to test.
CDI Boxes are prone to fail
You can buy them on Ebay for Chinese Clone dirt bikes for CHEAP
Trigger coil/pulser coil occasionally go bad.
You need a Repair Manual for the specs and test procedure.
AND an Ohmmeter,,,,,usually under $10~15
And the magneto coil goes bad rather rarely
Thats all there is.
Except for a sheared flywheel key---doubful that happened though.
Ya can also try unplugging all the connectors and blasting them with WD40 inside the connector to clean it.
Also doubtful,,but ya might get lucky

Cdi box on my dirt bike?
so ive found the cause of my dirt bike not starting..when i wiggle the cable by the spark plug it will start now..so ive found out that i need a new cdi box. BUT i have a question, my dirt bike is a 1985 xr100r and so i was wondering if they used the cdi box for that year or did they use a coil and condenser? any links and info to where i can get one would help too.. thanks 
No, you do not need a CDI. If you wiggle the spark plug wire and it starts then your spark plug wire is loosing its continuity and needs to be replaced. It could also just be that the spark plug cap has begun to pull out of the spark plug cable. Make sure you have continuity before you go replacing a CDI, that would just be a huge waste of money.
