I Need Help With Bike!?
I need to know how to remove a rear bike sprocket. It's a regular bike not a dirt bike. It sounds like there's dirt in there, it's like a scratching sound and I can tell by the way it feels. I just need to know how to get it off Thanks.
PS. I already have heard I should just use lube for it. But I don't have any.
First you need to know whether it's a Freewheel or Cassette. Cassettes typically stick out farther from the center of the hub. Are you familiar with taking off the wheel? popping off the chain? and all that stuff? If you aren't or don't have the proper tools, I would suggest just taking it in and having them remove and lube up the rear hub. It shouldn't cost more than maybe $10 or so. And yes your bearings should be properly greased.
